Hands down the most fun wedding to work on to date! This gorgeous couple have been together for 17 years and have two amazing daughters (Sam 20yrs and Kyra 14yrs).
They have a huge amount of love for each other, their daughters, family and friends from far and wide. The people in their lives are hugely important to them so bringing them together for their wedding day was something that they wanted to do in their own unique way.
They planned an adventure for all guests and had three days camping at Phoenix Valley. All guests came expecting a 40th birthday party for Summer. Friends and family travelled across the globe. Upon arrival guests were ushered over for the beautiful surprise ceremony, and then they partied for three days.
Sommer and Kane let me have loads of free rein with their wedding flowers, the brief was “give me loads of texture”!!! And proteas to represent Sommer’s grandmother. With proteas being out of season I couldn’t guarantee them. Thankfully the week of the wedding a handful popped up and I was able to incorporate them into Sommer’s bridal bouquet and into their stunning two piece ceremony display along with stunning wedding flowers such as antique hydrangeas, large headed roses, a few varieties of amaranth, toi toi and so many more bits and pieces to make everything pop.
I loved this wedding from start to finish. The communication with Sommer and Kane, the planning and especially the freedom to create.
